The Hungarian Cinematographers’ Association (HCA) was formed on 21 December 2020, to gather together the most prominent cinematographers of Hungarian film art.
The Hungarian Cinematographers’ Association is a politically independent association driven exclusively by professional considerations.
The members of the newly formed association include several Oscar-winners and Oscar-candidates, Emmy-winners, and artists awarded the prizes of ASC, Camerimage and Manaki Brothers International Cinematography Film Festival, the Golden Frog and the Golden Camera 300. In addition to their international recognition, they have also received numerous awards in Hungary: six Kossuth Prizes, four Outstanding Artist Awards, eight Worthy Artist Awards, twenty-two Balázs Béla Awards and more than 30 Best Cinematographer of the Year prizes.
The HCA is an open organisation; in the future, it will be continuously expanded by those whose professional work and achievements prove that they have a place among the most decisive cinematographer-filmmakers.
